Early Life

Jay Sekulow was born in New York City in the Brooklyn area and was raised as a Jewish. He was born to the parents Natalie and Stanley Sekulow. Sekulow graduated from the Lakeside High School, Atlanta. Jay holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts and he is a J.D. holder as well. He went to Mercer University for higher education. At the time he was attending the Atlanta Baptist College he became interested in the Christian region. After coming in contact with the Jews he became interested in them and decided to convert to Messianic Judaism. He secured his Ph.D. in 2005 from the Regent University. Sekulow wrote his thesis about the impact of religion on the opinions of Supreme Court Justices.

Jay started his career when he began working at the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) in the capacity of a public prosecutor. He worked there for 18 months. This was under the tax lawsuit division. He opened his own law firm in 1982 in Atlanta, Georgia. He became inspired by the Jews in 1987 and became their general counselor. In 1988, he was also primarily responsible for establishing a non-profit group called Christian Advocates Serving Evangelism. He still is the president of the law firm while his wife and two kids are the board members.

By 1992 he had become the director of ACLJ. He worked in the organization as the principal officer and chief counselor. He also hosts a daily radio program broadcasted on Sirius satellite radio and terrestrial radio. The channel is broadcasted on is called “Jay Sekulow Live!” The live show is aimed at discussing and resolving legal and legislative issues. He has also hosted a weekly TV news program termed as “ACLJ This Week”. The show is broadcasted on Trinity Broadcasting Network and Daystar.

During the earlier months of 2017, Sekulow worked as a personal lawyer to President Donald Trump during the investigation of Robert Mueller the special counsel. He also is the main outside counselor for the President for his accusation proceedings in the last two years 2019 and 2020. The Christian rock musician John Elefante is the lead vocalist for the band. John is the former lead singer in the band called Kansas.
