Buck Henry was an American actor, screenwriter, and director best known for his directing the movie Heaven Can Wait. Buck Henry net worth before his death is estimated to be $6 million.

Henry was born on December 9, 1930, in New York City to Ruth Taylor and Paul Steinberg Zuckerman. His mother was an actress while his father Paul was an Air Force brigadier general and a stockbroker. Henry went to The Choate School followed by Dartmouth College.

From 1959 to 1962, Henry was part of an elaborate hoax by comedian Alan Abel and pretended to be the president of the Society for Indecency to Naked Animals. As an actor, his dry humor attracted him to be a regular cast member on TV programs like The New Steve Allen Show and That Was The Week That Was.

Henry has appeared in more than 40 films including The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Graduate, Candy, Catch-22, Tune in Tomorrow, Defending Your Life, The Player, Short Cuts, and Grumpy Old Men. He has also written in many movies like The Graduate, Candy, The Owl and the Pussycat, The Day of the Dolphin, Protocol and To Die for.

From 1976 to 1980, Henry hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live 10 times making him the show’s most frequent host during its initial five-year run. He also set a record that held for nearly a decade.

Henry was nominated for an Oscar nomination for the screenplay for the movie “The Graduate” in 1967. He received a second Oscar nomination, this time for the Best Director of 1978’s movie “Heaven Can Wait”. In 1997, he received the Austin Film Festival’s Screenwriter Award.

Regarding his personal life, Buck Henry was married to Sally Zuckerman. On January 8, 2020, Henry died from a heart attack at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 89 years old.
