Early Life:

Dr. Younan Nowzaradan is also known as Dr. Now, and he was born in Iran in the year 1944. He grew up in the city of Tehran, along with his younger brother. He was a bright student in his class and always aspired to become a doctor. Nowzaradan graduated with a medical degree from the University of Tehran in 1970 and later moved to the U.S. for further studies. He took a medical orientation program after arriving in America at St. Louis University in Missouri in the year 1971. He also got a rotating surgical internship in the St. Johns Hospital in Detroit.

He completed a four-year surgical residency in Nashville, Tennessee, at the St. Thomas Hospital. The famous cardiac surgeon Denton Cooley was impressed by his careful hands, and he offered Nowzaradan a cardiovascular scholarship in 1976 at the Texas Heart Institute. Here the doctor worked performing many surgical practices, and it was in 1986 that he started a primary care and surgical clinic called B.B.C. with just three staff physicians.

Dr. Nowzaradan began his career as a heart surgeon and later went on to become a weight loss and general surgeon. Dr. Now has a total experience of more than 30 years in surgery after completing the residency. More than 30 years of experience in Bariatric and more than 18 years’ experience in laparoscopic surgery. He also has more than ten years of experience in laparoscopic bariatrics. She worked as a secretary, and after the marriage, she took a different mode of life. She assumed the role of a typical housewife taking care of family and children. She also looked after Younan’s mother, who stayed with the couple for 21 years. During this time of togetherness, Dr. Nowzaradan, along with his wife Delores, produced three children viz. Jonathan, Jennifer, and Jessica.

Although the conjugal life of Younan and Delores lasted for 29 years, in reality, the marriage was in chaos in the final years.
