Scott C. Borchetta is an American record executive and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Big Machine Label Group which has four subsidiaries which are Machine Records, BMLG Records, The Valory Music Co., and Nash Icon Records. As of 2019 Scott Borchetta net worth is estimated to be $230 million.

Borchetta was born on July 3, 1962, in Burbank, California. His father named Mike had a career in record promotions and therefore, Scott would also get acquainted with the ins and out of the business from a young age.

This also brought interest to him in the music industry. After his father started his own label, Scott got even more depth of knowledge though he was still very young. He then started to play bass in a country band as well as assisting his father.

Yet, his journey with the band came to an end as there wasn’t much of a bright future that Scott saw in that path. He later started to work at MTM Records in 1985 and later started to work as an independent promoter.

Having gained a lot of experience, Scott felt a need to level up and it seemed to be the wise move to start his own venture with the knowledge he had and the new ideas he wanted to implement of his own. Then, in 2005, he established Big Machine Records which started initially with 13 employees.

The very first signing of the label was Taylor Swift who would also be their most successful signing throughout the history of the company. Taylor was only 14 years old when Scott had first met her. Over the years, Taylor would become one of the most popular youth singers of her time and bring in several accolades for the company including two Grammy Awards for Album of the Year.

Scott has also worked as an in-house senior mentor in the popular reality music competition American Idol and in more contemporary days has ventured into launching his own series called The Launch which is meant to be a platform for pop culture’s next musical superstars.
