Chris was born on November 6, 1981, in Arlington, Iowa as the youngest child to Gary and Linda Soules. He also has three older sisters. Chris went to Starmont High School and was involved in football, track, and the National FFA Organization. After graduating from the high school in 2000 he went to Iowa State University where he graduated in Agricultural Studies.

Chris is popularly known for his appearance on reality TV series “The Bachelor”. Prior to that, he first appeared on “The Bachelorette”. He finished in third place at that show and became the fan favorite which saw him ended on the Bachelor season 19.

He proposed to Whitney Bischoff in the finale at his family’s barn in near Lamont. On May 28, 2015, the couple announced that they had called off their engagement.

Shortly, after that, he went on to become a contestant on the dancing show “Dancing with the stars”. He finished in the 5^th place in the competition alongside his partner Witney Carson. Moreover, he also appeared on the Food Network’s Worst Cook in America: Celebrity Edition in September 2015 but he was the third person to be eliminated from the group of seven.

According to reports, Chris and his family are now required to pay $2.5 million to the family of the victim, Kenneth Mosher as a part of a wrongful death lawsuit. The report suggested that the two parties made an agreement in January 2019, but it was only recently approved.
