Charles Rogers was an American NFL player who played as a wide receiver for three seasons in the National Football League. Rogers played three seasons with Detroit Lions. Charles Rogers net worth before his death is estimated to be $200,000.

Rogers was born on May 23, 1981, in Saginaw, Michigan. He went to Saginaw High School. He was a letterman in high school football, basketball, and track for the Saginaw Trojans. It was in Saginaw high school where he developed an interest in football. He was a three-time all-state honoree and a five-star recruit.

Rogers then played college football at Michigan State University for the team Michigan State Spartans. With Spartans he broke several records. He holds the records for most touchdowns in a career with 27. He broke Randy Moss’s NCAA record of 13 consecutive games with a touchdown catch. Rogers had 68 receptions for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns during his 2002 junior season. He also won the Fred Biletnikoff Award and Paul Warfield Trophy for being the best college wide receiver in the nation.

Charles Rogers was drafted second overall in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. During his first five games of the 2003 season, he caught 22 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns. His improvement in the field was hindered by an injury and was left out for the rest of the season.

In 2005, Rogers was suspended for four games for a third violation of the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. He had to return $10 million of the $14.2 million the Lions gave him in the bonuses. On September 2, 2006, he was released by the Lions.

After his release, he worked out for the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2006.

Regarding his personal life, he had several legal issues. He fathered eight children with four children, two of whom were born before he graduated from high school. In September 2008, he was arrested and charged with assault and battery of his girlfriend, Naija Washington. Four months later, he was sentenced to attend sobriety court or face jail time after violating his probation.

On September 16, 2009, he was arrested in Michigan for driving under the influence of alcohol after being found unresponsive behind the wheel of his car by police.

On November 11, 2019, Rogers died at the age of 38 because of liver failure.
