2. Bad Bunny dropped out of University to start his career.

Bad Bunny whose real name is actually Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio was born on March 10, 1994, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. His nickname Bad Bunny actually came while he was in school when a picture was snapped of him dressed up as an angry bunny.

His mother wanted him to grow up as an engineer, father wanted him to be a baseball player but he wanted to become a musician from an early age. He went to the University of Puerto Rico where he was studying audiovisual communication. He was looking for the right moment and made an audacious decision to drop out of University to start his musical career.

3. His ride to music has never been an easy one.

After dropping out of the University, Bunny started working at a supermarket as a bagger to meet his needs while he was also working as an independent artist at the same time.

In 2016, he released the song ‘Diles’ on SoundCloud which caught the attention of DJ Luian. He signed him to his record label, Her This Music. He had to struggle for some year to build his name as an artist but since signing the record label his career has been surging and looks like he will not be stopped for a very long time.

4. He gained his name collaborating with several Latin artists.

After the success of ‘Diles’, he collaborated with Ozuna, Nengo Flow, Arcangel, and Farruko to release the remix version of ‘Diles’. The track received millions of views on YouTube.

He then worked with Maluma on song ‘Un Polvo’. He was also featured in two other songs ‘Pa Que Le De’ by Brray and ‘Expicame’ by Mat Lanez. Bunny then worked solo on the song ‘Soy Peor’ which established him as the forerunner in the Latin American trap scene.

In March 2017, he partnered with J Balvin on a music video of the song ‘If Your Boyfriend Leaves You Alone’. The video was a massive hit and gathered over 100 million views in less than a month. In July 2017, Bunny collaborated in Becky G’s single ‘Mayores’. After some month, his collaboration with J Balvin and Prince Royce on the song ‘Sensualidad’ peaked at number 8 on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

Bunny is also joined by several artists on the stage including Becky G, J Balvin, Wisin & Yandel, Arcangel, El Alfa, Jovani Vazquez, Guaynaa, and Tommy Torres.

Bad Bunny and Cardi B collaborated on single ‘I Like It’. In Cardi B’s single, he raps in Spanish, Spanglish, and English. The song was a huge success commercially and it became Bad Bunny’s first number one single on the US Billboard Hot 100.

He then collaborated with Drake on single ‘Mia’. It reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In November 2018, he worked together with Jennifer Lopez on song ‘Te Guste’.

On December 24, 2018, he released his debut album ‘X 100pre’ under Rimas Entertainment and the 15-track project featured artists like Drake, Diplo, and El Alfa El Jefe.
