Morrison was born on October 26, 1963, in South Bronx, New York. Her father Maurice Morris was a clothing manufacturer. She went to Los Angeles City College where she studied acting. After completing her study, she landed an early film role in the 1967 comedy film ‘Divorce American Style’ and ‘How to Save a Marriage’.

For two years from 1965 to 1967, she appeared four times as an American Indian in NBC television series ‘Laredo’. After that, she appeared in a romantic comedy movie ‘Fools Rush In’ alongside Salma Hayek and Matthew Perry. Morrison initially became popular with guest roles on series like General Hospital, The Outer Limits, and Gunsmoke in the 60s.

Many of her fans recognize her as the Rosario Ines Consuelo Yolanda Salazar from the NBC sitcom ‘Will & Grace’. She appeared in total of 68 episodes from 1999 to 2006. She was first taken for a brief one-episode appearance, but her role Rosario was so popular with viewers it became a recurring character.

In addition to that, she has also appeared in several movies and TV shows like Prey, Shark Tale, My Name is Earl, Generator Rex, Home Improvement, Handy Manny, and Foodfight!. Her final appearance as an actress was the 2016 election-themed webisode of Will & Grace.

On December 1, 2019, Morrison died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles as a result of heart failure after a brief illness. She was 83 years old.
