2. Michael turned his passion of music and entertainment into his business.

Blakey was born on December 8, 1958, in London, England. He studied music in Madrid and Berlin. Blakey came to the United States with high musical experience as a drummer. He started his career as a producer when he was 19 years old. He was hired as the resident producer for Hansa Studios in Berlin.

Working in Germany was a learning curve from Blakey which paved the way for him to gain experience in the business industry later. He started working closely with accomplished artists like Juli Iglesias, Luther Vandross, Coolio, Mary J. Blige, 2Pac, Brian McKnight to name a few.

3. Blakey was not just a producer, he was a drummer too.

Blakey was passionate about music from an early age. He started to play drums from the 1980s to 1990s. His major contribution as a drummer was with the 90’s rock band ‘Tidal Force’. In their prime time, the band released an LP called ‘Will to Power’.

His unique rhythmic drumming style led the band to produce hit singles like ‘Will to Power’, ‘A Man Rides Through’, and ‘Station to Station’.

Rock and Roll was in his DNA but his expertise was in the field of production. From 1991 to 1994, he worked with the New York-based label ‘Atico Records’. In that time, he won the 1993 ‘Melody Maker’ Producer of the Year Award.

From 1994 to 1998, he founded three other music production and promotional companies one of which was Platinum Records. His record companies provided the musical soundtrack for Disney’s Cinderella II: Dreams Come True. In 1999, Blakey along with his partners John Guidon and Bruce Gladstone founded a record label named ‘2KSounds’. The company was successful which later went on to partner with Virgin Records and Blakey became President of the Record Division. In 2009, Blakey collaborated with comedian Ron White to form ‘Organica Media Group’ which later partnered with Universal Music Group for distribution.

Blakey then went on to form ‘Electra Star Management’ in California. The company has brought some high profile clients like Billy Bob Thornton, Pamela Anderson, Jimmy Connors, and Brett Butle.

As a television producer, he has been recruited for numerous films and television productions including CMT’s series “Ron White’s Comedy Salute to the Troops”. He also worked as an executive producer on Ron White’s Netflix special “If You Quit Listening, I’ll Shut Up’.

5. Michael is also a YouTuber.

When Michael is free and has nothing to do in his production company, he likes to show his luxurious watches, supercars, and private plane. He has a YouTube channel named ‘Producer Michael’. The channel delivers video content showing his luxury lifestyle and motivates young entrepreneurs who want to be successful in their life.
