Kimetrius Foose, who is better known as Lil Skies, is an American rapper who is signed with All We Got Entertainment.

1. His father introduced him to music

Foose was born on August 4, 1998, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. His father was Michael Burton, Jr. who was a hip hop artist named Dark Skies. At a young age, his father exposed him to the world of music.

By the time, he was 4 years old, under the guidance of his father, Foose was already writing his own songs. His father used to work in a Rust-Oleum plant and in a chemical explosion, he became injured.

Lil Skies was only 11 years old at the time and at the time would become a part of an album named Father-Son Talk where his father talked about the recovery process.

2. He dropped out of University

In 2016, Foose completed his high school studies from Waynesboro Area Senior High School. As with the majority of teenagers his age, Foose decided to go to university. He studied at the Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. Yet, his heart was still in hip-hop. Maybe it was his nurture where hip-hop was at the center of what he did and what he actually was good at doing. Keeping this in mind, against the status-quo, Foose decided to drop out of university and put all his focus on his musical career.

3. His debut mixtape was “Alone”

During his time at University, Fetty Wap had a show there and he would grab the opportunity by being the opening act. In 2017, his first mixtape would be released which was called Alone. He went on to release a series of songs including “Red Roses”, “Off The Goop”, and “Rude”.

These songs were of potential and the label called All We Got under Atlantic Records would realize it and make him a part of it. Eventually, through the label, Life of a Dark Rose was released and the album would do great making it to the number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on November 9, 2018.

4. He is a big fan of tattoos

Skies have his entire body covered with tattoos. Even the face has not survived the needle treatment as Foose is a very big fan of tattoos and it seems that he will most probably cover any area left with even more tattoos. In an interview, Foose mentioned that one of his most memorable tattoos is on his right arm. His friend Shack had gotten sick at the age of 16 and almost died. There he said to him “Tomorrow is another day, but it’s not promised.”That hit him inside his mind and he got it tatted in his right arm.
