Suplee was born on May 25, 1976, in Manhattan, New York City. His father is Bill Suplee who is known for playing the role of a character named Willie the One-Eyed Mailman in My Name Is Earl. Since both of his parents were actors, it is no surprise that this influence was seen in his early interest in acting.

His interest soon turned into a passion that led to the decision that he wanted to drop out of school at the age of 14. By this time, Suplee was pretty clear about what direction he wanted to take in his life career-wise, which was acting.

Though he was involved in a handful of different projects, one of the early roles that made him better known was playing William in Mallrats which was directed by Kevin Smith. He developed a great relationship with Smith and as a result, he worked with Smith several times in the future such as in his roles in Chasing Amy and Dogma.

Moreover, another big film that he was a part of was The Butterfly Effect alongside Ashton Kutcher. Another similar duo role he had was alongside Johnny Depp in the film called Cold Mountain.

One of the things that made him recognizable as an actor was his excessive weight. But, at one time in his life, Suplee decided to change things around and in 2011 had a huge weight loss of over 200 pounds. Many of his fans were astounded by such huge changes that Suplee credited to his habit of riding bicycles.
