Devin Haney is an American professional boxer. He is the current WBC lightweight champion. Haney is ranked third-best active lightweight by The Ring magazine and fifth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. As of 2019, Devin Haney net worth is estimated to be $1.5 million.

Haney was born on November 17, 1998, in San Francisco, California. Devin’s father William Haney is also a trainer and boxer. He taught him to fight from an early age. Devin and his father moved to Las Vegas when he was just 7 years old. After arriving at the US, he caught the eye of Floyd Mayweather Sr. who trained him later.

Devin idolizes Floyd Mayweather as his boxing inspiration. As an amateur, he has won seven national titles. In 2015, he became the youngest boxer to win the Youth World Championships in Reno. Haney turned professional at the age of 16.  His amateur career had 130 wins and only 8 losses.

Although Haney turned pro in 2015, he couldn’t compete in the United States due to the age regulation. So, his first 4 fights were in Mexico against Gonzalo Lopez, Jose Iniguez, Jorge Edgar Sillas, and Roman Melendez. On April 9, 2016, Haney fought against Rafael Vazquez on his home soil at MGM Grand Garden Arena in the United States.

Devin hasn’t lost a single fight yet. He has competed against the likes of Hector Garcia, Enrique Tinoco, Juan Carlos Burgos, and Xolisani Ndongeni. So far, in his 23 matches, he won 8 via unanimous decision while 15 came via Knockout.

Haney at the regional level has won the WBC Youth, IBF-USBA, IBF North American, WBC International, WBO Inter-Continental and WBA International lightweight titles as a professional. Recently, Haney and Haney Promotions signed a co-promotional deal with Eddie Hearn. On September 23, 2019, he faced Zaur Abdullaev for the WBC interim lightweight title, with the chance to face the winner of Lomachenko vs Luke Campbell for the full WBC lightweight title.
