Tyree Cinque Simmons, who is better known as DJ Drama, is an American DJ and record executive producer who is the co-founder of Generation Now that includes top artists such as Lil Uzi Vert and Jack Harlow. As of 2019, DJ Drama net worth is estimated to be around $12 million.

Simmons was born on April 22, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He had got his first-ever mixtape from his sister at the age of 13 and after that, it would inspire him to create his own mixtapes. As a result, when he was still studying at Central High School, he started experimenting heavily with music.

Later on, Simmons decided to study mass communications at Clark Atlanta University (CAU). Here, he would meet DJ Sense and Don Cannon who had common aspirations as him and as a result, they developed a good friendship together. It was during this time that he had adopted the moniker of DJ Drama.

He went on to release his first mixtape called Jim Crow Laws. Later on, he would release the mixtape series called Gangsta Grillz which started to gain good traction. By 2000, Simmons would graduate from CAU and move towards building upon the work that he had already done with a good development of his goodwill and networks.

By the year 2005, Simmons had been hosting radio shows on Atlanta’s Hot 107.9. In 2007, he released Gangsta Grillz: The Album which included singles such as Takin’ Pictures and 5000 Ones. The latter one was a big hit and eventually, the album overall was a big success reaching the number 26 on the Billboard 200.

In 2013, Simmons would get innovative in his approach and be a co-founder of The Academy which was a DJ incubator as well as an art collective. This was a unique and innovative initiation which was able to rear a lot of DJ’s and hone their skills.

He has continued to release music as well as be an executive producer with one of his best signings being Lil Uzi Vert as of late.
